About Nim-Véda

Nim-Véda Australia's Philosophy

In the making of our high quality products we strive to ensure that our natural philosophy is followed by making sure we keep our range free of any harmful ingredients as listed below:

  • NO Sodium Laurel Sulphate and Sodium Laureth Sulphate: These are common ingredients used in shampoo, bubble bath, baby wash, and toothpaste. The hazards of using these chemicals include tissue damage that may result in brain, liver, heart and lung damage in the long term, eye damage (especially in children), severe skin irritation, hair loss and eczema. Our Hair Care and Bath & Shower Gel DO NOT contain these products.
  • NO Propylene Glycol: This is used as a skin conditioning agent, a solvent and a humectant in many off the shelf products at your local supermarket. It is readily absorbed through the skin and scalp and affects the liver and kidneys, where it is suspected of causing abnormalities. We DO NOT use this in any of our products.
  • NO Animal Ingredients: It has often been demonstrated that animal products do not provide or add benefits to beauty care products. They are basically DEAD MEAT, which when added onto the skin, putrefy it. Having plant-derived extracts and oils that the body can absorb, process and use as building blocks, are far more beneficial. Therefore Niim-Viéda Australia products provide nutrient rich oil, active NEEM and Ayurvedic plant and herbal extracts that promote and protect the skin’s natural processes.
  • NO mineral oils: Both petro chemically derived mineral oil, or synthetically made mineral oil asphyxiate the skin, therefore blocking pores. They are often used as a cheap alternative to plant oils and have a very nice initial skin feel, though this is superficial. They do not provide nutrients and simply mask the condition momentarily.
  • NO animal testing: Not only is it unnecessary to animal test, it is also unscientific, as many animals do not have similar immune systems or skin tissue to humans. Animal testing is not a requirement for most cosmetic products and is used more in the pharmaceutical industry. We absolutely DO NOT animal test any of our products and are strong pioneers against the practice.
  • NO genetically modified Ingredients: We have a strong policy to use NO genetically modified ingredients in our preparations for any of our range.
  • NO Triethanolamine: Triethanolamine is used primarily as an emulsifier and surfactant. It also serves as a pH balancer in many different cosmetic products. Studies have suggested that Triethanolamine (TEA) occasionally causes contact allergy, although the risk of skin sensitisation to TEA seems to be very low. Its use in cosmetics was once expected to diminish, however, sadly it is still widely used. Our products DO NOT contain TEA.
  • Nontoxic Preservative: We DO use this preservative, which is approved for use worldwide making it an ideal preservative system for global formulation. In Japan it is approved for use in personal care products and is permanently listed by the European Union and Australia. In South America it is listed under MERCOSUR. In the United States of America and other North America regions, it is allowed for cosmetic use and included in the Cosmetic Toiletries and Fragrance Association.

Certified by NSW Health Department to be sold freely for cosmetic use.Disclaimer: The information provided here intends to create awareness of some of the issues about the ingredients used and is for educational purposes only and not for any medical treatment.

What does it mean to be a Trusted Trader?

We’re proud to be a registered Trusted Trader run by the Home Affairs Government Department of Australia.

We were accredited withTrusted Trader status when our application was successfully approved by the Delegate of the Comptroller General of Customs, effected through the Trusted Trader Agreement.

The application process was tough and lengthy and required approved Home Affairs personnel to analyse our documents, approve our facilities via a personal inspection and conduct a thorough analysis as the final step of completion.

So needless to say, we’re thrilled with the outcome and would like to thank the Home Affairs Department for its thorough analysis and assistance every step of the way as we all work towards keeping Australia safe from harm.

What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda often referred to as Ayurvedic medicine is a traditional medicine used by the people of India and continues to be practiced in India even today often as a complementary measure to allopathic medicine. Ayurveda implements a variety of treatments that include yoga, massage, herbal medicine, acupuncture and what is often referred to as the ”five actions” or panchakarma in the Indian subcontinent.

Where is Neem from?

The Neem tree (Arzadirachta indica) is a medium to large sized tree characterised by its straight trunk, furrowed dark brown to grey bark and dense rounded crowns of pinnate leaves. Although a native of the Indian subcontinent, Neem also grows extremely well in the tropical and sub-tropical areas of Australia.

Why does honey crystallise?

The presence of crystallised honey in pure Organic honey is not unusual and is in fact a good sign as it represents the quality of our unadulterated product.

Crystallisation of pure, raw honey is a normal occurrence as this is natural & spontaneous – this natural tendency to crystallise has no effect on the honey’s quality except for on its colour and texture. Furthermore, the crystallisation of honey actually preserves the quality and flavour of honey (the taste is often richer).

Certain honeys will crystallise uniformly while others may form two layers – on the bottom of the jar/bottle and on the liquid’s top layer. Honey by it’s very nature is a highly concentrated sugar solution containing in excess of 70% sugar and less than 20% water. The two main principals in honey are fructose (fruit sugar) & glucose (grape sugar) and the balance of the two sugars causes the crystallisation. The glucose crystallises because of its lower solubility by separating from the water, and therefore forming into tiny crystals – ultimately over time making the honey thicker and/or further crystallised.

What are the benefits of Neem?

Human beings have sort to fortify their health and cure various illnesses with herbal remedies for many years. While herbs, like ginseng and Echinacea are better known, research has proven that Neem has a wider array of uses than any other herb. Neem has been used extensively in health and beauty aids for many centuries. The first recorded indication of its use was 4500 years ago. This was even before ancient herbalists discovered the benefits of the willow tree, thyme, myrrh and pine.

The Neem tree is affectionately called the “village pharmacy” because it demonstrates:

  • Anti-fungal,
  • Anti-inflammatory,
  • Anti-viral,
  • Anti-bacterial and,
  • Anti-septic properties.

The balancing of the relationship between nature and science has provided many contributions to the world of medicinal cures, but one of the most ancient, natural and versatile contributors to mankind is NEEM.

Where are your products made?

We are proud to say that we are 100% Australian Owned, our personal care products are all manufactured in Australia while our foods come from various regions however are sourced from Australia where and when possible.

Why does your Neem & Clay Shampoo feel different each time?

Though this may not always occur, at times you may feel like our Neem & Clay Shampoo feels different to when you last bought it.

This is because as we use Natural Ingredients in our products, each batch may vary from time to time as inconsistencies in natural ingredients tend to be different depending on seasonal, environmental, climatic, etc changes.

Please note that our high quality standards have always and will continue to be our priority, so differences in your product are only a result in an alteration in the natural ingredients that is a normal occurrence of Mother Nature – just how she has always intended!

What's the difference between your certified organic products and your organic products?

Our certified organic products are certified by the USDA Organic Board whereas our organic products, though organic in terms of their production are not officially certified. However, organic products are organically produced, farmers that produce these products usually do not have the funds required to pay for certification. By supporting these farmers, you are not only helping a farmer and their family but also enjoying organic produce.

For those customers who would prefer certified organic produce, please choose among our vast variety of certified organic produce.
